How the Program Works
Every application and every article is reviewed by the QSCivilCalc editorial team. Nothing is published automatically — approval as a contributor does not bypass article review.
Application Submitted
You send the form below with your background and a proposed article.
Admin Review
Editorial team checks your profile and topic fit. Outcome: approved, rejected, or more information requested.
Approved Contributor
You receive an email with next steps and our submission format.
Article Submission
You submit the full draft with references, figures and any calculations.
Editorial Review
Structure, originality, clarity and relevance to our readers.
Technical Review
Formulas, standards and engineering claims are verified when required.
Edit / Request Changes
We may edit for clarity or ask you to revise sections before approval.
Final Approval & Publish
Only after final editorial approval is the article published with your author credit.

Articles are accepted on editorial quality and expertise. Please read these requirements before proposing a topic.
What we look for
- Genuine educational value for engineers, surveyors, construction professionals or students.
- Original content that has not been published elsewhere.
- Practical knowledge, experience, calculations, worked examples or clear explanations.
- Accurate engineering formulas and technical information.
- Standards and codes identified where relevant — including the applicable edition where practical (e.g. ACI 318-19, BS 8110, IS 456, ASTM).
- Clear structure with headings, units, figures or tables where they help the reader.
- A reasonable number of external links, each relevant and useful to readers.
What we do not accept
- Copied, spun or rewritten content.
- AI-generated content without substantial human review, technical verification and original expertise.
- Keyword-stuffed writing.
- Promotional articles disguised as educational content.
- Topics unrelated to civil engineering, surveying, quantity surveying or construction.
- Articles created primarily to obtain backlinks.
- Unverifiable technical claims or formulas without a source or derivation.
Editorial rights. QSCivilCalc reserves the right to edit content for grammar, clarity, formatting and technical presentation, and may reject submissions that do not meet editorial standards. Submission — and contributor approval — does not guarantee publication.
